A weekend argument escalated into a knife fight that landed two local men in the hospital, then in the Howard County jail.
Police responded Saturday evening to the 800 block of Lorilla in west Big Spring in reference to a disturbance and possible stabbing.
Big Spring Police Sgt. Tony Everett said that when officers arrived on the scene they found two men suffering from injuries caused by âedged weapons.â
The two men were identified as Ismael Juarez, 50, and Jason Threats, 32, both of Big Spring.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity:
â¢ ROBIN RENEE PORTER, 27, 2504 March, was arrested on a warrant from another agency.
â¢Â DAVID LYNN DOW, 27, 1402 Tucson, was arrested on a warrant charging criminal trespass (two counts).
â¢ CALVIN JACOB JAWSON, 27, 3701 La Junta, was arrested on a warrant charging theft.
â¢ STEVEN OCHOTORENA CHAVEZ, 22, 1002 E. 21st, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.
â¢ NATHAN CARL DEAN GARRARD, 18, 1425 E. Sixth No. 104, was arrested on a charge of assault/family violence.
FORSAN â The Forsan girlsâ basketball team got the win in its season opener against Garden City, but head coach Robert Hillger is hoping the jitters his players had in that first game are nowhere to be found tonight.
The Lady Buffs are on the road against Grady at 4 p.m. today in Lenorah. Theyâre coming off a close 39-37 win against Garden City.
That game was good for the Lady Buffs, however. Hillger said a lot of lessons come from close games.
A memorial service will be held for David M. Stevenson at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. David went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, surrounded by the love and support of his family.
Dean Roberson, 55, of Vealmoor died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Vealmoor Cemetery.
Charles L. Ussery Jr., died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Memorial Park Chapel.
Bobby Jones, 62, of Big Spring died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, in Midland.Â He will be in state from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Holston Banks officiating.
Dorothy Inez Maxwell Coleman, 92,Â a former resident of Big Spring, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, in Washington, Utah. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Kay Elizabeth Jackson, 59, of Big Spring died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, in an Arlington hospital. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
