December 17th
The inside game with Cerbi Ritchey and Diamond Mayes is almost unstoppable and the same could be said for Valerie Ross and Mackenzie
Stone’s shooting efficiency.
If that’s sounds like a double-edged sword opponents want no part of, how much more dangerous are the Big Spring Lady Steers with speed in the backcourt?
The answer: very dangerous. At least that’s what head coach Mike Warren is counting on with LaShaunte Anderson, Bridgette Tuitt and Logan Yarbar.
A dream deferred is not always a dream denied.
Four years ago, Marisa Torres came oh, so close to a high school diploma, which would have been the first anyone from her family had ever earned. But some bad science scores on a state test denied her that diploma, so she walked away from school, and stayed away.
But Marisa took a second swipe at that elusive diploma this school year, and with the help of a new Big Spring High School program and some dedicated teachers — but mostly through her own determination — she collected that sheepskin.

Coahoma-Forsan girls
Coahoma head coach Mitzi Bell can remember how big the Forsan game was when she was in high school at Iraan. Forsan head coach Robert Hillger can remember close games decided by buzzer beaters between the two teams.
Both coaches know the Coahoma-Forsan game at 6 p.m. today in Forsan means something to the players, considering the close proximity between the two towns and the familiarity the players have with one another.
These two teams being the same district this year makes things even more exciting.
