SWEETWATER â€” The Big Spring Steers changed their offensive attack early in Friday night's district game in Sweetwater, but were unable to come up with a different result, as they fall to the Mustangs 28-6.
Garrett Stuteville hit Toby Rodgers on a 23-yard touchdown pass at the halfway point of the fourth quarter for Big Spring's only points, as the Black and Gold fall to 0-8 on the season.
Sweetwater was treated to a different looking offense than they might have expected early in the game, as Steers' sophomore Devin Roberson started at the quarterback position for Big Spring.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the followingactivity between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday:
â€˘ CARLOS RENE GARCIA, 33, of 600 S. Bell, was arrested Friday on warrants for failed to maintain financial responsibility and theft less than $50/shoplifting.
â€˘ JAMEY SCOTT JOHNSON, 48, transient, was arrested Friday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
â€˘ SAMMY FERRELL, 50, of 509 N. Johnson St., was arrested Friday on a charge of public intoxication with three prior convictions.
FORSAN â€” Area 2A football fans could not have asked for a better game than the one played in Forsan Friday night. Both teams were undefeated in district play, setting the stage for a battle for all the marbles. When it was over, the Coahoma Bulldogs took a 23-22 victory home, advancing to a 4-0 district record, while the Buffaloes fall to 2-1.
After Justin Coker scored for the Bulldogs and then caught a pass from Tanner Ruiz for the two-point conversion, Forsan responded with 13 first quarter points of their own.
