Tony H. Guzman Sr., 75, of Big Spring died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Monsignor Bernard L. Gully officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born May 6, 1936, in El Paso, Texas, to Guadalupe and Clemente Guzman. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center as an environmental supervisor.

November 28th
A vacant house trailer was consumed in a Saturday afternoon blaze near the intersection of Highway 87 and FM 700.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, which was reported to the Howard County Volunteer Fire Department at about 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
“By the time the first unit arrived on scene, the trailer was fully engulfed (by the fire),” HCVFD Chief Tommy Sullivan.
Officials with the Big Spring VA Medical Center are inviting the community to help kick off the Christmas season Friday, Dec. 2, as the local healthcare provider will hold its annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony.
Daniel L. Marsh, medical center director for the West Texas VA Health Care System, assisted by area children, will throw the switch on the VA Medical Center's holiday lights, according to VA officials.
Deborah Ann Lewis, 46, of Big Spring died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Myers & Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Holston Banks officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
She was born Aug. 6, 1965, in Big Spring, Texas, to Doris Noble and Jessie Brown. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She worked as a waitress at Denny’s, TA Travel Center, Wendy’s and Pizza Hut.
Cheryl Johnson Clark, 55, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
