COAHOMA — Coahoma Independent School District officials have tabbed Amy Jacobs of Marble Falls to be their next superintendent.

State law requires the CISD board to wait 21 days before formally offering the job to Jacobs.

Jacobs' hiring will culminate a months-long search which attracted more than 50 applicants, CISD Board President Brian Moore said.

Most of the increase can be attributed to enrollment spikes at SouthWest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf and the district's Lamesa campus; enrollment at the Big Spring and San Angelo campuses were fairly static compared to the previous fall.
