COAHOMA — The race for the third baseball playoff spot from District 3-2A can't get much tighter.

The Forsan Buffaloes moved into a tie with Coahoma for third place in the district baseball race by knocking off the Bulldogs, 8-3, here Tuesday night.

Coahoma starter Kaleb McAdams was tagged with the loss.

Forsan down Bulldogettes in softball showdown

April 6, 2011

COAHOMA — The Forsan Lady Buffaloes have a specific script for success they must follow this softball season.

Unlike the past two state championship teams, this year's squad is not packed with star power and therefore has a smaller margin of error. To succeed, their coach said, the Lady Buffs have to combine good defense with timely hitting and throw in a pinch of pitching if they are going to have any chance of duplicating their past success.
So far, so good.

Howard College cowgirl tops in barrel racing

April 6, 2011

Kaci Smith has finally found her rhythm and for the second week in a row brought home the first place prize in barrel racing this past weekend at the Western Texas College rodeo in Snyder.

Smith scorched times of 13.64 in the long round and a 13.80 in the short, which was enough for the first place finish in the average.
“Kaci is doing a great job,” said Greg Kernick, Howard College rodeo coach. “She just needs to keep going fast and we’ll see her at he national finals.”
