Patsy Padilla, 71, of Big Spring died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
The Big Spring High School boys' golf team took full advantage of their home-course advantage to pad their lead in the District 5-3A golf tournament.
The Steers fired a team total 304 to boost their lead over second-place Abilene Wylie to 21 strokes after second-round play at Big Spring Country Club Wednesday afternoon.
Big Spring's Blake Brorman defied windy conditions to fire a 1-under 71 to lead the Steers and maintain his lead in individual medalist play. Fellow senior Andrew Fillingim shot a 73, followed by Ryan Pollard with a 79, Tate Kennedy at 82 and Devin Roberson with an 86.
