As the search for 13-year-old Hailey Dunn, who disappeared from her home in Colorado City in late December, trudges into its fifth month, volunteers say the young West Texas girl is being forgotten.
Mychelle Grissom, one of many volunteers who have searched fields in and around the Colorado City area — and surrounding communities — for clues to the girl's disappearance said search parties have dwindled in the past couple of months.
It's everyone's business.
That's the message Adult Protective Services (APS) is trying to drive home with Texans during the month of May, which just happens to be Elder Abuse Prevention Month and Older Americans Month.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. today:
â€˘ GARY WAYNE HOWELL, 51, of 553 Hillside Dr., was arrested Monday on charges of possession of a dangerous drug, prohibited substance in a correctional facility and criminal trespass of a habitation/shelter.
â€˘ LUCY VILLANUEVA SNIDER, 54, of Snyder, was arrested Monday on a charge of disorderly conduct â€“ language.
â€˘ BURGLARY was reported in the 3700 block of Connally.
â€˘ CRIMINAL MISCHIEF was reported in the 3300 block of Auburn.

In the 1200 block of Ridgeroad.
Carol L. Smith, 51, of Big Spring died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Michael Willard, pastor of Cornerstone Covenant Church, officiating.
Former Big Spring resident Jewel â€śMarleneâ€ť Sneed Yoak of Waynesville, Ohio, passed to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Services will be held at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville, Ohio, on May 20, 2011, with the Rev. Kenneth Thomas officiating. The viewing will be held at noon and the funeral at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Miami Cemetery in Corwin, Ohio.
Nell Jones, 76, of Big Spring died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Lamesa Memorial Park with the Rev. Clifton Igo and Brian Moore officiating.
R.H. Weaver, 88, of Big Spring died Monday, May 16, 2011, in an Odessa Hospital. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Angelina Castillo headlines a group of seven Big Spring Lady Steers who were named to the All-District 5-3A Softball Team.
Castillo, a sophomore catcher for the Lady Steers, was named Defensive Most Valuable Player of the all-district team, which was selected by a vote of the league coaches.
Sydney Laws of Brownwood was named district MVP, while her teammate, Sydnie Darden, was selected as the league's offensive MVP.
Two Lady Steers were named to the all-district first team â€” junior first baseman Mackenzie Stone and sophomore outfielder Hailey Dimidjian.
