The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 9 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. today:
â€¢ JOHN JOSEPH MOUNTNEY, 47, of Arkansas, was arrested Saturday on a charge of public intoxication.
â€¢ DALTON WILL WHITE, 34, of 410 Davis Rd., was arrested Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated (open container â€“ second offense.
â€¢ ERNEST SAIZ JR., 49, of 1905 Wasson Rd., was arrested Saturday on warrants for no driver's license â€“ when unlicensed, expired motor vehicle inspection certificate and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
Jason Bolt, 25, of Big Spring died Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Lamesa. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Sandy Daves, 28, of Sand Springs died Saturday, June 11, 2011, in a Lubbock hospital. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Aside from the annual Pops in the Park show, it will be a fireworks-free Fourth of July in Howard County.
County Judge Mark Barr announced today he will sign a declaration Monday banning the sale, possession and use of fireworks in the county.
Worsening drought conditions, coupled with the increased threat of wildfires, have prompted the move, Barr said.

Colorado River Municipal Water District officials announced this week that water deliveries to the district's member cities — which have already been cut by 10 percent — will be slashed by another 10 percent effective July 1.
Reduced pumping capability is being cited as the main reason for the district's latest move.

For the past 31 years, the Big Spring Model Aircraft Association has been putting on a fun fly. Once again the fun fly will take place at John Wesley Buzbee Airfield Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“This is a neat thing to see, especially for the airplane enthusiasts who don't really get the opportunity to fly,” said Robert Walker, president of the Big Spring Model Aircraft Association. “It's a great chance for them to see the aircraft up close.”

â€¢ ABEL GUZMAN, 29, 2911 W. Highway 80, was arrested on warrants charging unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon in a weapons free zone, failure to identify fugitive from justice, retaliation and a warrant from another agency.
â€¢ PATRICK ROBERTS PARRAS, 23, 2804 Williams, was arrested on a warrant charging no driver's license.
â€¢ VELERIA MATA MONTEMAYOR, 35, 2522 Gunter, was arrestged on warrants charging failure to report change of address/name, failure to appear and a warrant from another agency.
Davy Lee Hughes, 92, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 4, 2011. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, June 10, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Oldham Lane Church of Christ with Chris McCurley officiating under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St.
Kirk Doss Jones, 50, of Big Spring passed away Monday, June 6, 2011. Funeral services were to be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Howell Doran Funeral Home in San Saba with the Rev. Tom Brand officiating. Interment at Chappel Cemetery.
