Water will be the topic of choice during Tuesday night's meeting of the Big Spring City Council, as the group is expected to discuss ways to keep up with recent decreases in water deliveries by the Colorado River Municipal Water District.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 9 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. today:
• JOSHUA DAVID HARRINGTON, 21, of 1316 Park Ave., was arrested Saturday on a charge of public intoxication.
• OTIS JAMES PORTER, 28, of 2510 Hunter, was arrested Saturday on charges of criminal trespass of a habitation/shelter, criminal mischief, driving while license invalid, failure to maintain financial responsibility, expired motor vehicle inspection certificate and failure to appear (three counts).
BOSSIER CITY, La. — Funeral services for Big Spring native SSgt. Michael Jonathan Garcia will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at St. John Berchman Cathedral in Shreveport, La., with the Rev. Carson LaCaze officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, La. Michael was born to David Garcia and Mary Ann Garcia on Aug. 1, 1983, in Big Spring, Texas. He was killed in action on July 4, 2011, in Afghanistan.
SAN ANGELO — Lois May Peters, 94, of San Angelo died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at a local nursing home. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home.
