Campaign contribution probe wrapping up

Law enforcement officials involved in the ongoing investigation into alleged illegal campaign contributions accepted by a trio of Big Spring City Council members say the cases could go to the district attorney in as little as two weeks.

Big Spring Mayor Tommy Duncan, along with newly elected District 1 Councilman Marcus Fernandez and District 3 Councilman Glen Carrigan, are currently under investigation by the Texas Rangers for allegations they each accepted campaign contributions from a pair of corporations, Quad A Inc. and Hydro Dynamics.

Forsan ISD to give pay raises

FORSAN — Forsan Independent School District officials are dipping into their rainy day fund to help pay for pay raises and employee insurance costs this coming school year.

School trustees recently decided to go ahead with plans for modest pay raises for teachers and other district employees this year, despite drastic cuts in state aid that will hit the district the next two fiscal years.

In the 500 block of W. Eighth Street.
In the 1300 block of S. Birdwell Lane.
• ASSAULT was reported in the 400 block of E. Fourth Street.
