The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. today:
• BRANDI NICOLE RIGDON, 20, of 1416 Stadium, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of consumption of alcohol by a minor.
• LEROY COLEMAN, 22, of 2510 Hunter Dr., was arrested Tuesday on a warrant from another agency.
• LAURA DEANNA HERNANDEZ, 27, of Austin, was arrested Tuesday on warrants for no driver's license – when unlicensed and failure to appear.
Lois Rhoton, 84, of Luther died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with Derrick Looney officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Al Clanton, 86, of Big Spring died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Hospice House in Odessa. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
July 5th
Pops in the Park went off with a bang this year.
Despite the dry conditions, Crossroads residents were able to enjoy a safe fireworks display Sunday evening in Comanche Trail Park.
“Everything was well thought out, well planned and well executed,” Howard County Volunteer Fire Department Chief Tommy Sullivan, said. “We knew we could take care of it.”
Pops began with a performance by the Fab4 Beatles tribute band and was followed by a presentation of the colors ceremony and music from the Big Spring Symphony.

• JOE DAVID FLORES JR., 40, of Lubbock, was arrested Monday on a charge of public intoxication.
• BRANDON SOLIZ, 17, of 2519 Albrook, was arrested Monday on a charge of consumption of alcohol by a minor.
• JOE THOMAS RODRIQUEZ, 45, of 501 N.E. Ninth St., was arrested Monday on a charge of public intoxication.
• STEVEN DWANE SMITH, 51, of Lubbock, was arrested Monday on a charge of public intoxication.
Milton "Dean" Wood, 56, of Coahoma, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Coahoma Cemetery with the Revs. Wes Massey and Elwin Collom officiating.
James Galloway, 46, of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Chaplain Dean Thomas officiating.
Felipe Ramirez, 83, of Dallas, formerly of Big Spring, died Friday, July 1, 2011, in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
