The Big Spring Lady Steers continued their winning ways Tuesday night, making a strong statement to Levelland and anyone else who might be listening. After breaking into the top 10 in the latest poll from the Texas Girls Coaches Association with a number nine ranking, the Lady Steers defeated Levelland 25-13, 25-8 and 25-16 in front of a pumped-up home crowd.
Three players recorded 10 kills in the game for the 24-9 Lady Steers. Cerbi Ritchey, Morgan Seaton and Taylor Seaton all three hit the double digit mark to lead the team.
For most educators, AP stands for Advanced Placement, college prep courses offered through many Texas high schools.
To Mike Ritchey, however, the letters stand for “Absolutely Perfect.”
Ritchey, the principal at Big Spring High School, was using those words to describe the test results of seven BSHS students in the latest round of national AP exams conducted earlier this year.
It may be tedious work, but someone has to do it. And someone is.
Terry Kessler — owner of Hester's Mechanical Contractors Inc. — undertook the task of repairing Lady Liberty about a month ago as a way to bring his company together.
“The main goal was to get these guys working together,” Kessler said. “As you can tell, by the way they are working on her … it worked.”
