Claudine Karnes, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at her residence. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Clyde James âJimmyâ Bailey Jr., 65, of Big Spring died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Hospice House in Odessa. No services are planned.
He was born Sept. 24, 1945, in Lamesa to Opal and Clyde Bailey Sr. He grew up in Lamesa and lived most of his life in Albuquerque, N.M., and Hot Springs, Ark. He was a retired car salesman.
He is survived by one sister, Phyllis Smith of Big Spring; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 9 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. today:
â¢ AMADOR RIOS, 30, of 4215 Dixon, was arrested Saturday on a charge of public intoxication.
â¢ ISAAC NATHAN RIOS, 21, of 2911 W. Highway 80 Apt. 124, was arrested Saturday on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid â no insurance.
â¢ FRANK GARZA JR., 61, of 405 N.E. Ninth St., was arrested Saturday on a charge of theft.
â¢ MELINDA GAMBOA, 35, of 1200 Dixie, was arrested Sunday on a charge of public intoxication.
Big Spring City Council will look to put the finishing touches on its 2011-2012 fiscal plan Tuesday with final reading of its proposed budget and ad valorem tax rate.
The budget â which passed first reading Sept. 13 on a 6-1 vote â includes $1.5 million for a centrifugal sludge collection system for the city's water treatment plant, a project city officials are hoping will help raise the quality of water delivered by the municipality by lowering turbidity levels.
Leading the Big Spring Herald Community Christmas Parade this year will be an individual who lives up to the theme â âA Wild West Christmas.â
