Johnny Ray Liedecke, 55, of Big Spring died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in Scurry County, Texas.
His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Federico âFredâ Salgado, 62, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, Feb. 08, 2012, at his nieceâs residence. Vigil services and memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012,at Myers & Smith Chapel, with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating.
He was born Nov. 13, 1949, in Vealmoor, Texas, to Virginia and Cirilo Salgado. He has been a lifetime resident of Howard County. He married Alice Jimenez on June 26, 1971, in Midland, Texas. She preceded him in death Jan. 14, 2009. He was a self-employed carpet layer for more than 40 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Bill Raney, 82, of Big Spring, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Ken McIntosh, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.
Kelvin Allen Branch, 48 of Big Spring, Texas, formerly of Paris, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, in Midland, Texas.
Funeral services have been set for Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Bill Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Big Spring Economic Development Corporation board members will discuss the Type B project being proposed by the Big Spring City Council during a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce Board Room.
During the meeting there will be consideration, discussion and possible action concerning the Type B project proposed by Mayor Tommy Duncan, which would set some economic development funds aside for the repair and rehabilitation of the city of Big Springâs water and wastewater treatment plants and repair and replacement of water distribution lines.
Paul Pittman, local resident, stopped by Inspirations Flowers and Gifts Saturday morning during Kathleen Rigdon Highleyâs book signing. Highley was featuring her newest book, âComing Homeâ â her third novel âand also had copies of her previous two books, â106 Arrowhead Driveâ and âIn Search of Tranquilityâ on hand.

As of Thursday afternoon, Maxwell Barr â seat holder of District 4 â and Larry McLellan â trustee for District 3 â have announced they will be seeking re-election.
Barr was appointed to his current seat in February 2009 in order to fill the position of long-time board member Don McKinney, who passed away. After his fill-in term, he was elected to the position in 2010.

⢠DUSTY FRIAR FRIAR, 24, of 604 Drake, was arrested Friday on a warrant from another agency.
⢠ALFONSO BACA III, 29, of 506 State, was arrested Friday on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid with previous conviction.
⢠EDWARD MYERS IV, 41, of 1204 Lamar, was arrested Friday on a warrant for failed to maintain financial responsibility, safety seat system-child under 8 years or less than 4'9â tall and no drivers license when unlicensed.
