The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. today:
â€˘ ERNEST WILLIAM CLARK, 71, transient, was arrested Thursday on a charge of public intoxication.
â€˘ ADRIAN SANCHEZ VASQUEZ, 18, of Denver, Colo., was arrested Thursday on a charge of soliciting/peddling without a permit.
â€˘ ROY MARVIN COLLIER, 37, of 1307 Mt. Vernon, was arrested Thursday on a charge of driving while intoxicated â€“ third or more offense.
â€˘ BURGLARY OF A HABITATION was reported in the 1700 block of Johnson.
â€˘ THEFT was reported in the 1700 block of E. Third Street.
Marie Lopez, 65, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in an Odessa hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
She was born May 15, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Felipe Lopez on Aug. 4, 1965, in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1993.
James L. (Jimmy) Welch, 66, of Big Spring died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, in a Lubbock hospital. Services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Calvin D. Hamilton, 79, of Big Spring died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
One of the most storied rivalries in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference added an ugly chapter Thursday night.
Howard College defeated Midland College, 74-65, in a men's basketball matchup at Garrett Coliseum, but all anyone will remember about the game is a bench-clearing brawl that marred its final moments and resulted in several player ejections, at least two suspensions and MC having to finish the game with only four players on the court.

A Big Spring man was arrested Wednesday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child after law enforcement officials allege he assaulted a 2-year-old.
Larry Wayne Nicholson, 30, was booked into the Howard County Detention Center by the Big Spring Police Department at approximately 4:45 p.m. on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to jail records.
Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer for the local police department, said Nicholson had been brought to the BSPD offices for questioning regarding the complaint.
A 36-year-old Coahoma man pleaded guilty to one count of transportation of child pornography in federal court in Abilene Tuesday, with sentencing to take place at a later date.
Kerry Wayne Feaster â€” who lived in the 400 block of College Street in Coahoma at the time of his arrest in September â€” faces a statutory sentence of between five and 20 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine and up to a lifetime of supervised release, said officials with the U.S. Attorney's Office Northern District of Texas.

â€˘ ROBERT E. HNULIK, 47, of Artesia, N.M., was arrested Wednesday on charges of possession of a controlled substance (two counts), possession of marijuana â€“ two ounces or less, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
â€˘ DONTAE RENELL CARR, 30, of 2505 Chanute Dr., was arrested Wednesday on warrants for no driver's license â€“ when unlicensed (three counts), failure to appear (three counts) and nuisance â€“ animal repeatedly at large.
William A. â€śBillâ€ť Bonner Jr., 68, of Austin, formerly of Big Spring died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in Big Spring. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Trinity Memorial Park with Chaplain Cherise Felty officiating.
