The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. today:
• ROBERT RUBEN SANCHEZ, 47, of 1023 Stadium Ave., was arrested Tuesday on two warrants from other agencies.
• ROBERT GARDNER LYNCH JR., 51, of 300 Veterans Blvd., was arrested Tuesday on a charge of public intoxication.
• RANDY JOE HURRINGTON, 51, of 1411 Bluebird, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant from another agency.

That's the message City Finance Director Peggy Walker delivered to the Big Spring City Council Tuesday night regarding negotiations between the municipality and Alon USA to amend their raw water agreement. Consideration of a possible agreement was tabled for the second time in the past two weeks.
Residents will get a chance to get “trashy” Saturday, as Keep Big Spring Beautiful and local volunteers get ready to clean up the Crossroads area during the annual Don't Mess With Texas Trash-Off.
Trash-Off Coordinator Pat Simmons said there are a number of ways area residents and groups can get involved in the effort, whether it's tackling a piece of their own property or joining with other volunteers to spruce up an area in the community.
Barbara Begley, 71, of Big Spring died Monday, April 9, 2012, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel with James Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.
Edna Faye Smith, 97, of Big Spring died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at her residence. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
