Big Spring Independent School District is about to unveil four new elementary campuses, but that doesn't mean school construction is finished. In fact, hard hats are expected to be much in evidence for the lion's share of the coming school year.
The four new schools are undeniably the centerpieces of the $60 million project approved by voters two years ago, and their unveiling will undoubtedly be a cause for celebration by BSISD officials. That celebration begins in earnest with a series of ribbon cutting ceremonies scheduled for Aug. 9.
