The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday:
â¢ MARIO ROBERT OVALLE, 38, of 305 E. 19th, was arrested Friday on warrants for failed to maintain financial responsibility, fail to appear (two counts), no drivers license when unlicensed and warrant other agency (x2).
â¢ JOE ROMERO GUERRA, 33, of Lubbock, was arrested Friday on a warrant from other agency.
â¢ ZEON M. HERNANDEZ, 33, of Lubbock, was arrested Friday on driving while intoxicated and possession of controlled substance less than 28 grams.
Ms. Amanda Fay Moreno and Mr. Christopher James Duforat were united in marriage July 14, 2012, in a 6 p.m. ceremony at Kokopellis in Big Spring. The ceremony was officiated by Justice of the Peace Kathryn Wiseman and Manny Negron.
The bride is the daughter of Hilaria C. Moreno, of Big Spring and the late David G. Moreno. She is the granddaughter of Magdeleno and Irene G. Moreno and Abel Sr. and Irma Cruz, all deceased. She was given in marriage by her brother, David M. Moreno of Big Spring.
The groom is the son of Jean-Michel Duforat and Vickie Duforat, both of Fort Stockton.
Blake and Lisa Taylor of Weatherford, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter Amanda Taylor, to Dean Paul Camden.
Dean is the son of Terry and Marie Camden of Big Spring.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Azle High School and attended Tarleton State University for animal industries. She works for Big Spring Police Department.
The prospective groom attended Big Spring High School and is a graduate of Howard College. He is employed by Reserve Drilling.
The couple has planned an Aug. 11 wedding.
Alan and Della Partee of Big Spring announce the engagement of their daughter, Callie Nicole Partee, to Austin Lewis Roeder of Abilene.
The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Big Spring High School and a 2012 graduate of Abilene Christian University with a bachelor in business administration degree in marketing.
The prospective groom is the son of Carl and Lynn Roeder of Abilene. He is a 2008 graduate of Abilene High School and a 2012 graduate of Abilene Christian University with a bachelor in business administration degree in management.
Theodore M. âTedâ Nairn Jr. and Nora B. (Clark) Nairn quietly observed their 60th wedding anniversary in April 2012 at two local restaurants in Big Spring.
Ted and Nora celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2002 at a surprise party planned by their daughter, Julie Ann (Nairn) Duke. The party was held in the home of grandson Michael and wife Melissa Nairn in Big Spring. The party was attended by all of Ted and Noraâs children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as several other members of their families. There were five generations of the Nairn family in attendance.

â¢ RUDY TREVINO, 49, of Lamesa, Texas, was arrested Thursday on a charge of public intoxication.
â¢ JACOB ALEXANDER GALAN, 22, of 1607 S. Main St., was arrested Thursday on a charge of public intoxication.
â¢ JESSICA MICHELLE CHAVERA, 31, of 1900 Martin Luther King Blvd. Apt. 201, was arrested Thursday on two warrants from other agencies and warrants for expired registration, expired driver's license and failure to appear (two counts).
The pace has quickened a bit as early voting for Tuesday's state runoff election draws to a close.
Today is the final day for voters to cast early ballots for Tuesday's election, Howard County Election Administrator Saundra Bloom said.
Bloom reports 227 people have cast early ballots in person and another 133 have requested mail-in ballots. She said 74 people voted Thursday, almost doubling the total of early ballots cast so far.
Voters will pick their party's nominee in five state-wide races Tuesday.
The fair is coming.
The Howard County fair will return for three days, Sept. 27, 28 and 29.
Gates will be open from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 and Friday, Sept. 28 and from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
âAt this time, we are trying to get the vendors lined up for this year's fair,â John Paul Nichols, Howard County Fair publicity director, said. âWe are looking to draw in more than we did last year.â
Mary Roberts Dalton, 86, of Big Spring died Thursday, July 26, 2012, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the funeral home.
Mary was born May 1, 1926, in Topeka, Kan. She married Samuel K. Roberts on July 1, 1944, and he preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1985. She then married James M. Dalton on Aug. 20, 1988, and he preceded her in death June 15, 1989.
Allen E. Sundy, 85, of Big Spring died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Herb McPherson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the funeral home.
He was born May 25, 1927, in Flomaton, Ala., and married Pauline "Polly" Harrell on Sept. 4, 1947, in Big Spring. She preceded him in death April 24, 2002.
