FORSAN â€” No one is using the words â€śbond electionâ€ť just yet, but Forsan Independent School District officials are studying the very real possibility of asking voters to approve construction of a new elementary school.
When they meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the administration wing board room, FISD trustees will consider hiring a financial advisor to help them with details pertaining to a possible bond election which could be called for sometime in 2013.
School district officials have been considering replacing Elbow Elementary for some time, Superintendent Randy Johnson said.
Howard County commissioners are set to hold public hearings Monday morning concerning the proposed 2012-2013 tax rate and budget, as the county looks to move forward with its fiscal plan for the coming year.
According to County Auditor Jackie Olson, commissioners will be moving forward with a proposed rate of 33 cents per $100 valuation.

â€˘ ANNIKKA MARIE TREJO, 24, of CR 104 El Toro Rd., was arrested Friday on a charge of public intoxication.
â€˘ CANDIDA LYNN WHITEHEAD, 39, of 3706 Connally Street, was arrested Friday on charges of failed to maintain financial responsibility, expired motor vehicle inspection certification and warrant other agency.
â€˘Â JOHNATHON PAUL BUSTAMANTE, 23, of Odessa, was arrested Friday on a charge of no drivers license when unlicensed.
Anne Mary â€śIkeeâ€ť Gray, or Mimi, 76, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at San Angelo Community Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. She was born June 24, 1936, in Garden City, Texas, to Young Claude â€śYCâ€ť and Helen Gray. Mimi was the eldest daughter of the family.
Mimi received her bachelors in speech therapy, masters in audiology and PhD in psycho-linguistics. She was a woman pioneer in the 1970s. She founded Audio Acoustics and brought audiology to the small towns of west Texas. Later in life, she worked as a counselor in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico.
Anacleto "Junior" Casas, 56, of Knott, Texas, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with M. Shawn Gary of the Knott Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 10, 1955, in Rio Grande City, Texas and married Zulema Villarreal Jan. 19, 1982 in Rio Grande City, Texas.
Mary Lou Morales, 67, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2012 at her home. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at St. Annâ€™s Catholic Church, Colorado City, with the Rev. Michael Udegbunam officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell County Cemetery, Colorado City.
She was a long time resident of Mitchell County, having lived in Colorado City for many years and later moving to Loraine to her most recent residence.
Bonnie Griffis, 68, of Kerrville, formerly of Big Spring, died Friday, Sept. 07, 2012, at her residence. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
L.C. Hurst, 83, of Big Spring, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at his residence. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
