Mary Lou Morales, 67, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2012 at her home. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at St. Annâs Catholic Church, Colorado City, with the Rev. Michael Udegbunam officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell County Cemetery, Colorado City.
She was a long time resident of Mitchell County, having lived in Colorado City for many years and later moving to Loraine to her most recent residence.

L.C. Hurst, 83, of Big Spring, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at his residence. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.

Big Spring Economic Development Corporation approved a memorandum of understanding Wednesday with Express Midstream Services LLC (EMS) for a potential lease of property east of Sid Richardson's carbon black plant and northeast of Alon refinery.
As Sept. 11 approaches, Mike Tarpley and the local DAV chapter are gearing up for another ceremony. The ceremony â started in 2007 â will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Big Spring Mall.
âThe original idea was to hold a ceremony at a flag pole out by Hangar 25 (Air Museum), but once I thought about it some more, we decided that it should be out here,â Tarpley said from inside the mall.
The first year drew 70 people and has continued to grow ever since. Last year there were 250 people in attendance at the 9-11 ceremony.

âą MARK MAXIANO GUTIERREZ, 21, of 2911 W. Highway 80 (apartment number not provided), was arrested Wednesday on warrants for consumption of alcohol by a minor, driving under the influence of alcohol by a minor and failure to appear.

Loran Warren Jr., 59, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at his residence. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
In just a few days, the Comanche Warrior Triathlon returns to Big Spring.
Triathletes will be swimming, biking and running up and down county roads and through Comanche Trail Park starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.
âWe are looking forward to this year and can't wait for all the triathletes to get here,â Debbie Wegman, event coordinator, said.
The competition, in its fifth year, will include a 500-meter swim in Comanche Trail Lake, transition to a 30K bike ride and will conclude with a 5K run.
