Randell "Wade" Compton, 50, of Dallas, formerly of Big Spring, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, in a Plano hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery, in Midland-Greenwood.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the funeral home.
William "Bill" Dickson, 76, of Coahoma, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Revs. Craig Wascom and Billy Guy officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Fresno, Calif. and married Dana Reeves June 25, 1960 in Stockton, Calif.
Lajuana Carole Montgomery, 77, passed away Friday Nov. 30, 2012, at Parkview Nursing Home in Big Spring.
Lajuana was born Feb. 7, 1935, to Alton Thomas Jackson and Christine Ida Meil Jackson in Stamford, Texas. She was raised in Stamford with her sister, Devon and brother, Nickey. She married James Elwood Montgomery Sept. 26, 1955 in Stamford. They made Odessa their home, where she remained until July 2011 when she moved to Big Spring. Elwood preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1997. They raised two children whom she truly loved, Sharon Kay Thomas Fletcher and Leslie Neal Montgomery.
Sharon Brummett, 48, of Rhome, Texas, formerly of Big Spring died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012. Her services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Martha Hunter Saunders, 91, of Big Spring, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at Marcy House. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Private Calvin McKee lay in an unmarked grave for 101 years until 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, when the Confederate Monument Dedication at Mt. Olive Cemetery brought 85 people â€” including 35 direct decendants â€” together to honor him.
The Sons of Confederate Veterans and Order of the Confederate Rose hosted the event.
A Big Spring woman was arrested Sunday afternoon on a charge of abandoning/endangering a child â€“ criminal negligence after law enforcement officials say she left her 1-year-old infant in a vehicle unattended while she went shopping at the local Walmart Supercenter.
Katherine Rios, 23, of 306 N.E. Sixth St., was arrested Sunday on a charge of abandoning/endangering a child â€“ criminal negligence.

â€¢ JUAN MANUEL GONZALEZ, 34, of 2310 S. Runnels, was arrested Sunday on charges of failure to signal within required distance and driving while license invalid â€“ DWI related.
â€¢ GONZALO HERNANDEZ GONZALES, 36, of Bonham, Texas, was arrested Sunday on a charge of public intoxication.
â€¢ ANSELMO HILARIO JR., 27, of 1409 Bluebird, was arrested Sunday on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana â€“ two ounces or less.
Vernon M. Gill, 96, of Garden City died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Garden City Cemetery, located in Garden City, Texas.
He was born in Nolan County to Bob and Clara Holloway Gill. Vernon moved to Glasscock County in 1928 and graduated from Garden City High School in 1933. In 1935, he moved to Sterling County, where he met Glenda Cox. They married March 17, 1937.
