BSHS singers clear hurdle toward state

Eleven Big Spring High School students received all-region accolades during tryouts this weekend in Odessa.

Nine BSHS students were named to the all-region choir outright, while two others were selected as alternates.
The all-region qualifiers are: Toby Shubert, Cory Hilario, David Juarez, Hannah Morgan, Micaiah Rodgers, Brycen Kiker, Roy Gomez, Michael Matthews and Donovan Clark. Aron Rios and Kate Sorton were selected as alternates to the choir.

28, at 5:30 p.m. in the Senior Circle Room, Scenic Mountain Medical Center is inviting members of the
community to learn about the new health insurance options.

Scenic Mountain Medical Center will have representatives on hand who will clear up confusion surrounding the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Douglas M. Green, 71, of McKinney, formerly of Big Spring, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Baylor McKinney Hospital. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

Mary Virginia Womack

October 2, 2013

Mary Virginia Womack, 88, of Coahoma, Texas died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Monroe Teeters officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the funeral home.
Mary was born May 3, 1925, in Colorado City, Texas and married J. P. "Pete" Womack Jan. 30, 1951, in Lovington, N.M. He preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1993.
