The Big Spring Economic Development Corparation gave heartfelt thanks to two board members whose terms had expired and welcomed two new faces at Tuesday night's meeting.
Dr. Keith Ledford and Justin Myers were given certificates of appreciation for their service to the EDC and Big Spring.
âIt has been a pleasure and an honor to serve on the board under the stewardship of Terry Wegman,â said Dr. Ledford in his farewell address. To incoming board members Ledford gave this advice, âKeep in mind we have to be concerned with not only today, but with the future at hand. boom or bust.â

Alvina âVinaâ Jo Roberts Marchant went to be with her Lord and Savior on Mon., Oct. 28, 2013, in Boerne at the age of 68. She was born in Wellington, Texas on March 20, 1945, to Francis and Hughetta Roberts. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial service for Arlton Hale DeVaney was held Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in Athens, Texas.
Mr. Devaney passed away on Oct. 23, 2013 at age 75. He was born in Coahoma, Texas to Charles Houston DeVaney and Bama Theo DeVaney on Feb. 25, 1938. He was raised in West Texas on a cotton farm.
Arlton graduated from Coahoma High School and served in the U.S. Army.
David English, former longtime employee at the Big Spring Refinery, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, in the company of his family. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, in Snyder, Texas, at the London Bleu, 3011 College Avenue.
Jessie M. Nelson, 94, of San Angelo, formerly of Big Spring died Sunday Oct. 27, 2013, at Park Plaza in San Angelo. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Leland Hyatt, 86, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, in a Colorado City nursing home. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
