The Big Spring-Andrews game slated for 7:30 p.m. at Odessa's Ratliff Stadium has been moved up to 6 p.m. today, due to inclement weather.

Ernestine “Granny” Childers

   Ernestine “Granny” Childers, 87, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Midway Baptist Church, Big Spring with the Rev. Jim Binix, officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery, Coahoma, Texas. She was born May 23, 1926, in Eastland County, Texas, and married William T. “Bill” Childers Dec. 24, 1943, in Gorman, Texas. He preceded her in death April 14, 1996.
    

Martha Jane Lloyd

Martha Jane Lloyd, 90, of Big Spring, died Thursday Nov. 21, 2013, at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery in Stamford, Texas with Michael Orsini of Trinity Baptist Church of Strawn, Texas, officiating.

Castaneda charged with bribery of inmate

ABILENE, Texas — Matthew Castaneda, the Big Spring police officer arrested on a federal indictment earlier this week, is accused of bringing contraband to an inmate while he was employed by GEO group.
Castaneda, 23, of Big Spring was taken into custody was arrested after a federal grand jury returned an indictment last week, charging him with one count of bribery of public officials.

Late Notice - Steer Football Game time has changed

HC Theater to present Ives’ ‘All in the Timing’

The Howard County theater department will present a public performance of “All in the Timing,” a play by David Ives, this weekend.
The play is a life-affirming comedy of metaphysics. Structured as a stream of short vignettes that explore the delightful absurdity and inherent hilarity in joyfully doomed human communication. The performance offers a lightning quick race for of love, death and immortality, monkeys and lovers, communists and composers.
