Elvira A. Olivas, 81, of Big Spring, Texas died Wednesday Nov. 27, 2013, at her residence.Vigil service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with MSGR Bernard L. Gully officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born to Maria and Jose Alvarez March 8, 1932, in Knott, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Howard County. She married Federico M. Olivas Nov. 21, 1952. He preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1994.
Nell Grace Hart Parker, 89, of Big Spring, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at the Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church with Brother Jeff Harris, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Connie Underwood, 71, of Big Spring, died Thursday November 28, 2013 at his residence. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.â¨

Linda Calvio, the assistant director for Victims Services, filed Wednesday with the Republican Party to run for the Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Place 2 position.
