Traffic at the site of a collapsed overpass bridge on Interstate 20 could resume normal operations sooner than originally anticipated, transportation officials said.
The FM 2566 overpass bridged collapsed onto the westbound lane of the interstate at mile marker 170 after it was struck by an 18-wheeler late Tuesday. No major injuries were reported, but the collapse forced traffic in both directions to be rerouted.
It was so much fun last year that they've decided to do it again.
The Heritage Museum is hosting its second annual Cup Cake Wars this Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon during the Christmas Tree Forest open house. The cupcakes will be judged on taste and decoration with any theme for Christmas, however this year's Christmas will be based on â€śGlitz, Glitter and Glamour 1930s Style.â€ť
Varnell D, Pierce, 86, of Winters died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, in Big Spring, Texas.
He was born Oct. 7, 1927, in Winters, Texas to Johnnie L. and Dessie Mae Bowen Pierce. He attended school in Winters and later served in the U.S. Army's 11th Airborne Division and served in occupied Japan. He married Alma Lou Tatum on January 4, 1948 in Winters, Texas.
Ruby Langford Fowler, 85, passed away peacefully Oct. 10, 2013. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Herb McPherson officiating.
Judy Price Belcher, 63, of Big Spring, died Saturday, Nov. 02, 2013, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 08, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 30, 1949 in Rotan, Texas and married Elmer Belcher July 15, 1987 in Coahoma. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1998.
