Citing unfavorable weather conditions, the Texas Department of Transportation announced it is suspending construction on I-20 Business â€” Third and Fourth streets â€” during the winter.
The project will resume in March, when weather is more favorable for the type of work that remains, said TxDOT Area Engineer Jesse Mendoza, P.E.

Thatâ€™s the theory behind the popular drive-through event, the Festival of Lights, and if so, theyâ€™re right. As of Wednesday evening, 3,406 visitors had made their way through the 1 million-plus light display, representing 16 states, Canada and Japan.
The Festival opened Sunday and will run from 6 to 10 nightly through Dec. 31 at Comanche Trail Park.
Jimmy Hopper, 64, of Big Spring, Texas died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Derrick Looney, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Jimmy was born October 27, 1949, in Hobbs, N.M.
Wayne L. Morris, 90, of Big Spring, Texas, died Tuesday at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Elwin Collom, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Iredell, Texas, and married Marciel Newman Nov.r 7, 1942, in Big Spring.
James Walter Salvato, 71, of Big Spring,Texas, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, in a local hospital. Honoring his wishes, no services are planned at this time.
James was born Aug. 2, 1942, to Peter and Leota (Reid) Salvato in San Angelo, Texas. He married Viola Barfield June 17, 2005 in Big Spring.
