In an effort to assist with the additional trash generated during the holidays, the city of Big Spring will set large dumpsters at four locations to assist all areas of the city beginning Monday.
The dumpsters will be picked up Friday, Jan. 10
Anyone needing to dispose of large boxes, etc. during this time may put them in the large trash containers at these locations:
Coronado Plaza â€“ west parking area
East of Spring City Mall
College Park Shopping Center
700 block of N. Gregg
All live Christmas trees need to be disposed of at the compost facility at the landfill â€” 4100 E FM 700.
Robert Kilpatrick, 68, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at his residence. His body will be in state at Myers & Smith Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. No formal services will be held.
We have sisters that need a FurEver Home...Paisley and Mascot.
They are a medium sized dogs. They both are around aÂ year old and are sweet girls. Mascot is a little shy, but she is very loving. They both have been with BSSCR for a while and they really need to get a home of their own. They both get along with other dogs, andÂ are good with children.
Paige Alexandra Jackson of Big Spring and Seth Randall Johnson of Forsan will exchange wedding vows Dec. 28, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Big Spring. The bride is the daughter of Johnny and Susan Jackson of Big Spring and the granddaughter of Bill and Juanita Briley of Luther, Texas and Kate Lomax of Dana Point, Calif. She is a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Scenic Mountain Medical Center.
D'An Hurst, daughter of Tami Wise Hurst and Lt. Col. Daryl Hurst and granddaughter of Dan and Mardelle Wise, recently graduated from the Marine Corps Boot Camp at Parris Island, S.C. and the Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejune, N.C. She is currently stationed at 29 Palms, Calif. undergoing communication training.
D'An is a third generation Marine involved in communications, as her grandfather, Dan Wise, who served in the Marine Corps 1961-1967, and her father, who is set to retire from the CorpsÂ in April 2014, were also in the communications field. Semper Fi to a new Marine.
