CLARENDON — The Lady Hawks came away with a 66-50 road win against Clarendon College in what Head Coach Earl referred to as “a pivotal game”.
“I was really impressed with the way we came out and played,” Diddle said of his squad's performance. “They played well defensively and really had no mental lapses even though Clarendon is a tough team to play against. They are very unorthodox.”
HC led the Lady Bulldogs by 12 at the halfway mark, who pulled within eight in the second half of play, but couldn't complete the rally and fell short in the final minutes of play.
A Big Spring man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and criminal mischief Thursday after a bizarre turn of events at the local Wagon Wheel restaurant.
Lapaul Eric Scaggs, 36, of 510 S. Benton, was arrested Thursday by Big Spring Police Department officers on charges of aggravated robbery and criminal mischief – more than $1,500 and less than $20,000 after law enforcement officials say he allegedly refused to pay for his meal.

As they have worked their way toward calling for a bond election to finance a new elementary school, Forsan Independent School District officials have tried to balance what they want with what they think the district's taxpayers can afford.
So, you can imagine their reaction when they learned the price tag might be boosted by a couple million dollars.
The culprit? Wastewater.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. today:
• TABITHA MONTEZ, 19, of 1401 Princeton, was arrested Thursday on warrants for no driver's license – when unlicensed and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
Justen Vogel, 39, of Midland, formerly of Big Spring died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, in a truck accident south of Midland. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at the farm of Teen Challenge of the Permian Basin, 6901 SCR 1200, Midland, Texas, with the Rev. Darrell Trout of Harvest Time Assembly of God Church officiating. Friends are invited to join the family for a meal and fellowship following the service.
Clifford L. Stovall, 87, of Blanco, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
