James 'Jimmy' Pedigo

James "Jimmy" Pedigo, 82, of Big Spring died Saturday, March 16, 2013, in the local veterans home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Bob Heneghan officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1930, in Monahans, Texas, and married Frances Janelle Riggins on Feb. 12, 1954, in Big Spring, Texas. She preceded him in death July 22, 2009.

Billie G. 'Bill' Powell

Billie G. "Bill" Powell, 88, of Big Spring died Sunday, March 17, 2013, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Joey Bacon officiating.
He was born March 3, 1925, in Sylvester, Texas, and married LaVerne Cook on June 16, 1946, in Sweetwater, Texas. She preceded him in death April 1, 2009.

The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 9 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. today:
• RUSSELL JACK ILLE, 52, of 7106 S. Service Rd., was arrested Sunday on a charge of public intoxication.
• GAIL DEAN MARRIOTT, 49, of Springfield, Mo., was arrested Sunday on a charge of public intoxication.
• FELICIA CANALES, 24, of 906 E. 12th St., was arrested Sunday on charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest, search or transportation.

Body found near Lake Thomas

SNYDER, Texas — Area investigators, including the FBI and Texas Rangers, are investigating the scene where a badly decomposed body was found Saturday near Lake J.B. Thomas in Scurry County, about 33 miles north of Big Spring.
News sources said that as of this morning, authorities have not decided whether to send the body to Tarrant or Lubbock County for an autopsy.

FISD bond election hearing set Thursday

FORSAN — Residents in the Forsan Independent School District will get a chance to sound off about the upcoming school bond election Thursday.
A public meeting has been scheduled to address issues raised by the proposed bond at 6 p.m. Thursday in Elbow Elementary, FISD Superintendent Randy Johnson said.
Architects from Parkhill, Smith & Cooper will be on hand with a presentation on construction plans and to answer questions, Johnson noted.
FISD trustees voted in February to hold an election in May. They are asking voter approval of a $23.8 million bond.
