As interest in the expected Cline Shale oil boom continues to grow, Howard County commissioners will begin taking steps to prepare for the phenomenon during a special meeting Monday morning.
The court is expected to meet in an executive session with the Austin law firm Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP of Austin, which commissioners retained in early March. According to County Judge Mark Barr, they will be looking at ways to deal with the continued growth of RV and trailer parks within the county.
Rudolph John Knocke (R.J.) was born March 23, 1926 in Hermleigh, Texas to Erna and Rudolph Knocke.
He lived his childhood in Colorado City until 17 years of age. He was active in all sports and was very popular among all of his peers. When he was 17, he moved with his family to Beeville, Texas.
In 1944, he enlisted in the Navy and served during World War II in Germany and England. He later served in the Marines Reserve.
He married Doris Hunter in October 1946 in Colorado City, Texas. She preceded him in death Dec. 18, 1999.
Jessie Cardoso, 59, of Big Spring, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
She was born Aug. 24, 1953 in Big Spring, Texas to Juanita and Juan T. Parra. She lived most of her life in Big Spring, except for 20 years living in Dallas. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a homemaker.
Ruth Graham, 70, of Big Spring, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Dr. Randy Cotton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
She was born Feb. 6, 1943, in Big Spring, Texas and married Bud Graham October 6, 1982, in Big Spring.
Ruth worked for the Big Spring State Hospital for more than 30 years, retiring as the purchasing manager.
Lillie Elizabeth Craven, 86, died April 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Cotton officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

As Big Spring Independent School District nears the end of construction and renovation related to the $60 million bond approved by voters in 2010, officials say the district definitely got a bang for its bucks.
BSISD trustees learned during their monthly meeting Thursday that not only has the district been able to finish all the construction projects it originally targeted in 2010, there's a bit of money left over for more work.
A major part of avoiding health issues is avoiding potential hazards, and a portion of Saturday's Health Fair will be geared toward just that, officials are saying.
The event, in its 31st year, will be held from 8 a.m. until noon at Dorothy Garrett Coliseum on the Howard College campus. Admission is free. It is staged each year by Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce.

Reginald "Reggie" Dawson, 48, of Big Spring died Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Johnny Ray Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Reginald â€œReggie" Dawson was born Jan. 22, 1965, in Big Spring, Texas, to the late E.S. (Sam) Dawson and Jo Hazel Dawson. He attended public schools, graduating from Big Spring High School in 1983.
James Richard Conley "Dick", 58, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Big Spring officiated by the Rev. Craig Holstedt and the Rev. Dana Mayfield. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, April 12, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
