A pair of executive sessions â€” one concerning county-owned property and one dealing with a personnel issue for the Howard County Sheriff's Office â€” await county commissioners Monday afternoon, as the court prepares to hold a special meeting.
The first executive session deals with real estate (county-owned property) pursuant to Texas Government Coade 551.072 and commissioners may take action on the matter once they return to open court.

If there was any doubt this has been a highly successful year for the Big Spring High School choir program, the medal haul from this week's state solo and ensemble contest belied those concerns.
A record 18 gold medals were won by BSHS choir students at the University Interscholastic League's Solo and Ensemble Contest, held earlier this week at the University of Texas in Austin, BSHS Choir Director Anna Gann said.

â€˘ KATRINA MITCHEL BAKER, 39, of 804 Andree St., was arrested Friday on warrants for expired registration and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
â€˘ ANTHONY ALPHONSO LEWIS, 41, of 809 E. 15th St., was arrested Friday on a warrant from another agency.
â€˘ ADRIAN RODRIGEZ, 34, of 1605 Harding St., was arrested Friday on a warrant for delivery of a controlled substance less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
Lawrence Edmund Thibeault passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013. He was 74 years old, born on March 12, 1939, in Springfield, Mass., to Betsey and Phillip Thibeault.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy. Lawrence and his family moved to Odessa in 1975, where he was co-owner of Simpsonâ€™s Photo Service.
Survivors include five siblings; his son, Lawrence Thibeault and wife Karen of Big Spring, Texas; daughter, Sheila Heffernan of Odessa, Texas; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel.
Boby J. Barnes, 75, of Big Spring, Texas passed quietly from this world at his home on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Spring Creek Fellowship in Big Spring with Pastor Derrick Looney officiating.
He was born Sept. 22, 1937, to Roy N. Barnes and Emma R. Ferguson in Midland, Ark., and was the youngest of six. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He married Nina F. York on Feb. 18, 1961, in Big Spring, moved to El Paso, Texas, in 1965 and lived there until returning to Big Spring in 1998.
Isabel "Cuata" Mata, 82, of Big Spring passed away Friday, May 31, 2013. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Myers& Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with MSGR Bernard L. Gully officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
Joy Johnke, 71, of Big Spring, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Randy Cotton officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013, at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1942, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Alvin Johnke in January of 2006 in Big Spring, Texas.
