Robert (Bobby) Hooper, 65, died at his residence Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
He was born to Lillian and Jeff Hooper of Abilene, Texas. Bobby grew up in Abilene, graduating from Abilene High. He entered the Navy during the Vietnam War. After serving several years, he finished his education at McMurry. He then managed Waldens book stores in several towns for about 20 years.
His failing health forced his retirement at that point.
He had lived in Big Spring about five years.
Ann Carson, 79, of Big Spring, died Thursday Sept. 26, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Graveside services and burial will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Walkers Chapel Cemetery in Reklaw, Texas.
She was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Elida, N.M., to Della and Lilton Stringer. She was a long time resident of Howard County, moving to Big Spring in 1966. She married Marvin Kenneth "Kit" Carson in 1966 and in 1991. He preceded her in death Oct. 17, 2002. She was a Lutheran and a homemaker.
