The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. today:
• JESSICA BLANCO, 31, of 305 E. 19th St., was arrested Wednesday on warrants for failure to maintain financial responsibility, driving while license invalid and bail jumping – failure to appear (fine only, two counts).
• SEAN EDWARDMARBLE, 24, of 306 Rocco Rd. in Coahoma, was arrested Wednesday on warrants for expired motor vehicle inspection certificate and failure to appear.
• JOSE ALFREDO GOMEZ, 30, of 1404 E. 15th St., was arrested Wednesday on a warrant from another agency.
Art Blassingame was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Fannin County, Texas. He died Dec. 19, 2012, at Lamun-Lusk–Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, Texas.
Art served in the United States Air Force for four years in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He farmed in Howard and Martin Counties after the end of the war. Later, Art worked at Pollard Chevrolet for 25 years and made many life-long friends in the community.
After a long battle with illness, Fred Byron Park left this world to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Fred was born July 3, 1942, in Big Spring, Texas. He was a graduate of Forsan High School. Over the years Fred lived in many places, always to return to the Big Spring area.
At the time of his death, Fred lived in Coahoma, Texas. Fred worked in the oil fields of West Texas for the majority of his life. His knowledge, expertise and devotion to his duties will be missed.
Michael Eugene (Bull) Masters, 52, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, after a brief illness with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Johnson’s Funeral Home with interment to follow in Water Valley Memorial Cemetery.
Mike was born Jan. 4, 1961, in Big Spring, Texas, to Dewey Bannister and Dixie Luce Bannister. He married Charla Dawn Berry on Feb. 21, 2009, in Bridgeport, Texas.
Lillian Brewer, 83, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at her residence. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.

Early voting in this year's municipal and school board elections remains slow and steady, according to county election officials, as voters look to decide a number of local contests.
Howard County Elections Administrator Saundra Bloom said voting was fairly strong Monday, which marked the opening of early voting across the state.
Area educators are casting a wary eye at new school accountability ratings announced by the Texas Education Agency.
TEA Commissioner Michael L. Williams announced the four components that will be part of the new 2013 state accountability system for school districts, campuses and charters in Texas. The first ratings under this system will be issued by the Texas Education Agency this August.

• JOHNNY RODRIGUEZ, 23, of 2526 Ent Dr., was arrested Tuesday on warrants for driving while license invalid and failure to appear.
• HEATHER L. MAY, 28, of Joliet, Ill., was arrested Tuesday on charges of shoplifting and possession of marijuana – two ounces or less.
• MARTY DEWAYNE RICHTER, 45, of 120 Moore Rd., was arrested Tuesday on a charge of criminal trespass of a habitation/shelter.
Michael "Bubba" Birmelin, 32, of Big Spring was found on April 28, 2013, in Big Spring. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Joel Miller officiating.
He was born Aug. 31, 1980, in Big Spring. He worked in the oil field. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and was a Baptist.
Fred Park, 70, of Coahoma died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his residence. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
