The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity:
â€˘ CHARLIE JAKE TURNER, 33, 900 S. Aylesford, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and theft under $50.
â€˘ JOHN MARTINEZ RAMIREZ, 46, 1516A Sycamore, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana under two ounces.
â€˘ JOSE MANUEL BUSTAMANTE, 40, 416 Westover, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana under two ounces, driving while license invalid, failure to maintain financial responsibility and two warrants for failure to appear.
Suzanne Jordan Cranford, 67, of Big Spring died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Lindsey pastor, and Dr. Michael Dean, pastor of Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
She was born Oct. 5, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa and married Reg Cranford May 29, 1971, in Wichita Falls.
MONAHANS â€” Big Spring kept on rolling with a 14-1 shelling of Monahans on Thursday. Following Adam Franco's shutout performance Tuesday, pitcher Gunnar Kennedy found his rhythm, allowing just one run in the five-inning affair.

SNYDER â€” It is starting to look like another trip to Austin is in the cards for the Big Spring boys golf team.
After the first round of district play, Big Spring sits atop the standings with a combined score of 301, edging rival Wylie which shot a 309. Snyder rounded out the top three with a score of 312.
Leading the Steers were Devin Roberson and Tate Kennedy who each shot 73. Ryan Pollard scored a 77, Jason Guevara shot a 78 and Tyler Bryan shot a 79.
Big Spring High School's academic team fell short of earning a second straight District 4-3A title, placing second to Abilene Wylie High School in Tuesday's University Interscholastic League meet at BSHS.
Wylie scored 541 points to handily win the meet, while Big Spring was second with 350.5 points. Snyder High School finished third with 220 points, followed by Monahans, Greenwood and Sweetwater.
â€śI was proud of our students,â€ť said Jennifer Adams of BSHS, the district's meet coordinator. â€śI was hoping we'd repeat as district champs, but Wylie is always going to be tough.â€ť

â€˘ ALEX SANCHEZ, 26, of 809 S. Aylesford, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for hindering officers discharging official duties.
â€˘ MICHAEL DEWAYNE NORRIS, 39, of 3500 W. Interstate Highway 20 Apt. 14, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
â€˘ DEBRA ANDERSON, 53, of Abilene, Texas, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant from another agency.
â€˘ JANIE GALAVIZ, 41, of 3620 Calvin, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of public intoxication.
James Houston Barclay Sr., 89, of Reno, Nev., died Thursday, March 21, 2013, in a Reno, Nev., nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas, with Derrick Looney officiating.
Jim was born Sept. 12, 1923, in San Augustine, Texas, to Willie and Julia (Grunning) Barclay. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Jim was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was aboard the USS Utah and made it to shore before the ship sank.
Mary Rios, 43, of Big Spring died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Tempers flared Tuesday night as Big Spring Mayor Tommy Duncan and Howard County Precinct 3 Commissioner Jimmie Long went toe-to-toe during the city council meeting over an alleged ultimatum delivered by the city regarding future use of a new municipal landfill.
The city and county have been locked in negotiations regarding how the county should help pay for the purchase of property and operation of a new landfill planned for the municipality in the next few years.
