Richard Corser, 33, of Midland, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring. No other services are planned.
Richard was born May 10, 1980, in Midland and was a roughneck in the oilfield.
Survivors include his parents, Donna and Frank Coats of Big Spring; one brother, David William Corser of Austin; and one sister and brother-in-law, Sherri and Sean McConney of Baltimore, Md.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Corser.

Frankie Joshua Rubio III, 2, of Odessa, died Friday, June 14, 2013, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa following an automobile accident. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

Linda Groebl, 62, of Midland, died Monday, June 10, 2013. The family will receive friends from 5: p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, June 16, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2013, at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.
Survivors include children, Kevin Gordon, Kristian Gilbert, Natalie Permenter and Deborah Cosilla.

Melba Passmore, 72, of Big Spring died Friday, June 14, 2013, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel.
She was born Sept. 1, 1940, in Locker, Texas, to Bill and Richard Rawls. She grew up in Lomax and attended Lomax school but spent most of her life in Big Spring. She was a homemaker along with working for a number of years at Klondike School Cafeteria. She was a Baptist.
Robert P. Hayes, MD of Big Spring, Texas, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at age 73. Visitation is Sunday, June 16 from 4-6 p.m. at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. The celebration of Dr. Hayes’ life will be held Monday, June 17 at 2: p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1701 E. FM 700, Big Spring.
Bob was born Nov. 18, 1939, in Malden, Mass. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1967 and served in the United States Army from 1967-1971. He took care of the servicemen during the Vietnam War and had a great love and respect for the military.
ABILENE, Texas — A 51-year-old Big Spring man, was sentenced this week, by U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis, to the statutory maximum of 10 years in federal prison for possessing child pornography.
In addition, Judge Solis ordered that Juan Jose Guerra pay $150,000 in restitution to a victim whose photographs were included in his child pornography collection.
A narcotics investigation lasting several months led to the arrest of a Big Spring man Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of Tulane, according to law enforcement officials.
Jose Lopez Chavez III, 43, of 300 Tulane, was arrested Thursday on charges of possession of a controlled substance – more than four grams and less than 200 grams (two counts) and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
According to Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer with the Big Spring Police Department, investigators with the BSPD and Homeland Security served the warrant at approximately 2 p.m.
