Fathers got to spend some quality carving time with their children at Washington Elementary Friday.
The school's â€śPumpkins With Popâ€ť event annually brings fathers to the campus to spend time with their kindergarten-age kids in a classroom setting, then try their hands at the latest jack o' lantern designs.
Everything is turning up pumpkins at Berea Baptist Church at 4204 Wasson Road. Pastor John McCullough and Jen Hollingsworth, event coordinator, pose in the patch Thursday afternoon, opening day for the holiday event. The patch will continue through Oct.31 â€” Monday through Saturday, noon until 8 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. â€” and offers a variety of child-friendly activities at no charge. Milton Mow, 73, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Chaplain Cherise Felty officiating.
Milton was born Jan. 27, 1940, in Coleman, Texas and married Nell Benson Jan. 18, 1964, in Big Lake.
