Frances Faye Vinson Hobbs, 81, of Big Spring died Sunday, July 14, 2013, in a Lubbock hospice facility. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the Family Faith Victory Center with Brother Neil Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the funeral home.
She was born April 15, 1932, in Hatchel, Texas, and married Johnnie A. Hobbs Jr. on Aug. 14, 1948, in Big Spring, Texas.
Carlos Humphrey, 84, of Big Spring died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in a Lubbock hospital. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.

Guardians of the Children is a nonprofit organization established to help abused children. The Wildcat chapter held a fundraiser Saturday to help aid in assisting children who have been abused. It was a little bit of fun for an important cause.
David Benjamin Shifflett, 60, of Sweetwater, died Friday, July 12, 2013, in Sweetwater Health Care Center. Visitation was Sunday at McCoy Funeral Home. Graveside services were scheduled for 11:30 a.m. today at Sweetwater Cemetery with the Rev. Duane Oden officiating.
He was born Nov. 21, 1952, in Sweetwater and attended Faith Harvest Church.
DeNeise Bennett Coates, 40, of Sand Springs died Friday, July 12, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the Midway Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Winn and the Rev. Jim Binnix officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the funeral home.
She was born June 19, 1973, in Big Spring. She grew up and attended school in Coahoma, Texas.
FORSAN â€” Show them the money.
Forsan Independent School District trustees are expected to approve the sale of $23.8 million in construction bonds when they hold their regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the administration wing board room.
The construction bonds were approved by FISD voters in May, but trustee approval is needed before the issues are officially sold.
Among the projects which will be financed by the bond are:
â€¢ A new elementary campus, which will be located adjacent to the junior high/high school building in Forsan.
â€¢ A wastewater treatment plant

Myrel McNew, 80, of Big Spring, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at College Baptist Church with Pastor Ken McMeans officiating.
Myrel was born May 11, 1933, in Sparenburg, Texas, to Sadie (Franks) and J. Hobbs McNew. She has been a lifetime resident of Howard County except for a few years in Gardendale and Wolfforth. She owned Village Beauty Shop for many years and also worked for the Boll Weevil Program in Howard County. Her hobby was her grandchildren.
Randy Nix, 54, of Big Spring died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Vigil and memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Deacon Jerry Duenes officiating.
He was born Jan. 19, 1959, in Flint, Mich. He graduated from Davison Community Schools in Davison, Mich., in 1977. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. He worked at the VA Hospital in Big Spring since March 2000.
Evangelist Buster William Keaton passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013. Buster was born July 11, 1941, in Big Spring to Otis Carroll Keaton and Bonnie Barnes Keaton Lacy. Buster's most heartfelt prayer was salvation for all. Buster was preceded in death by his parents; brother, O.C. Keaton; sisters, Jeanett Good and Carrollene Lutz.
