Public hearing on city master plan set Monday

Big Spring city officials are ready to unveil their vision for the community's next 25 years, and they want to hear from you about it.
The city's Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee will host a public meeting to discuss the community's master plan at 6 p.m. Monday in Dorothy Garrett Coliseum on the Howard College campus.

Job Fair scheduled Tuesday

Employers still have time to sign up for a both at the Job Fair set for early next week.
“We are encouraging employers who are interested in participating to call us on Monday,” said Debbye ValVerde, Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce executive director.
The Job Fair will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum East Room, 1001 Birdwell Lane.

Rosary Service for George Quintero, 64, of Big Spring and formerly of Slaton will be 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014, in Englunds Chapel.
Celebration of life mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, in Slaton’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Chacko Thadathil officiating. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Mr. Quintero was born in Slaton on April 15, 1949. He passed from this life Monday, April 14, 2014, in Lubbock, surrounded by his family.
