Big Spring High Schoolâ€™s Devin Roberson kept his quest for a medal at the Class 3A state golf tournament alive on Monday morning by turning in a solid opening round at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines course.
The Forsan High School 4x200-meter relay team earned the chance to live a dream on Saturday evening at the Region I-1A Track and Field Championships at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa.

GREENWOOD â€” An 18-wheel water haulter flipped and struck a transmission tower along Highway 158 early Monday evening, causing approximately 8,000 Sharyland Utilities residential and business customers to be without power for more than an hour.
According to Sharyland officials, the outage occurred about 6:50 p.m.

Jean Range, 89, of Big Spring, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A Remembrance Service will be held on May 9, 2014 at 1st United Methodist Church Garrett Hall at 5:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery at Dallas/Ft. Worth.
Jean was born March 17, 1925 in Clarendon, Texas to Loxie Mae Boles and June W. Taylor. She married Edgar Byron Range, Jr. on March 17, 1947 and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2012.
