With five games left in their 2014 regular season, the Big Spring High School Steersâ€™ baseball team is right where it hoped it would be when the season got under way. In the heart of the playoff chase.
The District 4-3A Track and Field Championships will be held today and on April 10 at Blankenship Field on the campus of Big Spring High School. The top performers in each event will advance to the Area track meet on April 17 in Pecos.
For those who watch Big Spring area governmental body meetings on cable channel 17 â€” or at least have tried to â€” the city council has a deal for you.
The council will consider a resolution which would beef up video and audio recording capabilities of several area entities when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers, 307 E. Fourth.

Three Big Spring High School acting students earned honors at the UIL One Act Play competition held in Snyder Saturday, March 29.
â€śUnfortunately, we did not advance but brought home three acting awards,â€ť said Tabatha Wright, high school theater teacher and director of the play. â€śAll young men that won acting awards are first year actors. We are in a very tough district, and I believe that BSHS Theatre did a fantastic job and performed to the best of their ability.â€ť
George Russell â€śRustyâ€ť Hayworth, age 51 of Coppell, Texas, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2014, after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
