Funeral services for Carolyn Simpson Rebber of Lamesa will be held Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Lamesa with Pastor Alan Korinek officiating. Interment will follow in O’Donnell Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Carolyn, age 69, went to be with her heavenly father Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, in Lamesa.

Billy Ray Wells, 40, of Midland, Texas died on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Belvue Church of Christ, located at 611 Carroll St., Stanton, Texas 79782. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Stanton, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at the Gilbreath Funeral Home, 209 North St. Charles , Stanton, Texas.

Billy was born Jan. 11, 1974 in Andrews, Texas.

James E. Beaird, 84, of Big Spring, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rivers Francis officiating.
He was born April 15, 1930, in Caddo, Okla., and married Frances Joyce Bryant June 14, 1967, in Breckenridge, Texas.

Ruben Anthony Gonzales Sr.

Ruben Anthony Gonzales Sr., 31, of Big Spring died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, in an automobile accident in Dawson County. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. tonight in the Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park. 
Ruben was born June 13, 1983, in Big Spring, Texas, to Maria (Brito) and Jose R. Gonzales. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a driller for Patterson Drilling Company.

Stevan Valencia Jr.

Stevan Valencia Jr. 34, of Big Spring died Thursday, Dec, 4, 2014, in an automobile accident in Dawson County. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. tonight in the Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park. 
Stevan was born Nov. 26, 1980, in Big Spring, Texas, to Delma (Hinojos) and Estevan Valencia Sr. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a driller for Robinson Drilling.

TxDOT touts ‘Sober Ride’ campaign

As holiday festivities get into full swing, the Texas Department of Transportation reminds drivers to stay safe and sober when traveling to and from parties and other celebrations.

“We want drivers to have fun over the holidays, but more importantly, we want them to celebrate responsibly,” said TxDOT Executive Director Lt. Gen Joe Weber, USMC (Ret). “Make a sober ride part of your plans and don’t let one bad choice ruin the holidays for you and your family.”

Barbara Clayton Anderson was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Lubbock, Texas, to Jerry Bernard Clayton and Mary Dickinson Clayton. She died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at her home on the Muleshoe Ranch.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Christ Church Anglican, 5501 North Midkiff Road, Midland, Texas 79705.
