Ronald M. Jett, 57, of Big Spring, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, in Nolan County from injuries received in a vehicle accident. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Charles Atkerson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
C. Roy Wright died Feb. 1, 2011, in Rogers, Ark. A celebration service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011, at the Big Lake Fire Department in Big Lake.
Norma Jean Abundez and Rick Cantu, both of Mission, would like to announce their engagement.
Norma is the daughter of Paul and Bonnie Abundez, of Big Spring. She is a 2003 graduate of Mission High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Texas Pan American. She is currently employed as a middle school teacher.
Rick is the son of Eleazar and Maria A. Cantu, of General Bravo, Nuevo Leon. He is a 2001 graduate of Mission High School. He is currently employed by Geek Squad at Best Buy in McAllen.
The couple plans to exchange wedding vows June 25, 2011 in Mission.

FORSAN — The Forsan Buffaloes broke out the lumber to claim their second district victory of the 2011 baseball season, pounding Denver City 16-8 at the FHS field Friday afternoon.
The Buffs spotted Denver City an early 2-1 lead, but came roaring back in the middle innings to put the game out of reach.
Peyton Parker pitched five innings to earn the win, with relief help from Trevor Burchett.
The Big Spring Lady Steers had no shortage of opponents Friday night.
For starters, there was the visiting Sweetwater Lady Mustangs, who spotted the Lady Steers a six-run lead, then came roaring back with six runs of their own.
Then, there was the Lady Steers themselves, who gave the Sweetwater rally a helping hand with ineffective pitching and two three errors.
Finally, there was Mother Nature, who proved to be the toughest opponent of the night.
COLORADO CITY — Billie Dunn, mother of missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn, was booked into the Mitchell County Jail on Thursday on misdemeanor charges for obstruction of justice and possession of drugs.
Dunn was taken into custody by authorities at her Colorado City home Thursday evening on charges of hindering apprehension and prosecution, possession of dangerous drugs and making a false report to police officers. All three charges are misdemeanors.
A Howard County grand jury returned 16 indictments Thursday, including a number of true-bills for narcotics charges.
Among those indicted were:
â€¢ Darrell David Brown, 38, of Midland, possession of a controlled substance (state jail felony).
â€¢ Allysia Dawn Heckart, 29, of Odessa, possession of a controlled substance (state jail felony).
â€¢ David Wayne Crow, 23, of 617 S. McEwen, possession of marijuana (state jail felony).
â€¢ Pierre Jean Gordon, 20, of 806 Ohio, possession of a controlled substance (third-degree felony).
Job fairs, chamber gatherings and golf tournaments are on tap for the next couple months.

â€¢ STEPHEN CRUZ, 32, of 1707 Donley, was arrested Thursday on warrants for failure to control speed and failure to appear.
â€¢ LAPAUL ERIC SCAGGS, 34, 510 S. Benton, was arrested thursday on a charge of assault causing bodily injury â€“ family violence.
â€¢ BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE was reported:
