â€˘ STEVEN VALENCIA GAMBOA, 28, of 506 N. Nolan, was arrested Friday on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid with previous conviction.
â€˘ LOUIS ANTONIO SILVA, 23, of 1210 Lindbergh, was arrested Friday on a charge of possession of controlled substance less than one gram.
â€˘ DAVID GARZA JR., 26, of 1905 Wasson Rd., was arrested Friday on a charge of public intoxication.
Edwinna Carr, age 95, of Odessa passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, in Odessa. Services are pending with Sunset Funeral Home.

Nariah Faith Martinez, 8-year-old daughter of Israel and Toni Martinez of Big Spring, was selected as a candidate in the Distinguished Youth of Texas Scholarship and Recognition Program held Nov. 25-27 at the Marriot Rivercenter Hotel in San Antonio. During the weekend competition, Nariah won the title of second runner up to the Little Miss of Texas titleholder which also included an academic savings bond.
Memorial Stadium is getting a major facelift.
During their Thursday night meeting, Big Spring Independent School District trustees voted to set aside $825,000 in reserve funds to purchase and install artificial turf for the stadium.
But a new playing field is only the first of several upgrades planned for the 60-year-old stadium. In the near future, school district officials plan to replace the stadium's restrooms and concession stands and significantly upgrade its field house and press boxes.
A Big Spring woman, arrested and charged with the Tuesday morning aggravated robbery of a 7-Eleven, is still in custody and has been charged with other crimes, according to Big Spring police.
As of this morning, Deborah Kay Cantu, 46, of 419 Dallas Apt. B, remained in the custody of the Howard County Detention Center. Bond has been set at $75,000 for the aggravated robbery and $2,000 each for two counts of burglary of a vehicle.

â€˘ MICHAEL EVERET BARNETT, 24, of 207 Moore Rd., was arrested Thursday on a warrant from another agency.
â€˘ NICOLAS GRAIG MILLS, 31, of 614 Steakley, was arrested Thursday on a warrant for driving while license invalid.
Paul Lindell, 62, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Hospice House in Odessa. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of God with Charles Harrington officiating.
Doris Lewis, 62, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Pastor Holston Banks of Shiloh House of Praise and the Rev. Gary Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
