The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. today:
• JENNY MARIE LYON, 36, of 2911 W. Highway 80 Apt. 256, was arrested Monday on a charge of public intoxication.
• RITA BALDWIN HOTELLING, 49, of 903 Abrams, was arrested Monday on warrants for possession of a dangerous drug and theft – more than $50 and less than $500.
• FEDERICO HOWARD SALGADO, 61, of 607 Caylor, was arrested Monday on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid with a previous conviction.

Bobby Gene Fishback, 54, of Forsan died Monday, June 27, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Big Spring with Derrick Looney, pastor of Forsan Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

Harvey Dick Harmon, 49, of Big Spring died Sunday, June 26, 2011, at his residence. No services are planned at this time.

City to tighten water restrictions

Municipal water customers may have to cut back their outdoor use of water to two days instead of three, as the Big Spring City Council is expected to approve a revision to its Drought Contingency Plan Tuesday to accommodate yet another decrease in deliveries by the Colorado River Municipal Water District.

Assistant City Manager Todd Darden said CRMWD is set to decrease its water deliveries by a total of 20 percent beginning July 1, a move made necessary by the current extreme drought conditions.

All that glitters can be sold at roadshow event

Crossroads residents who have gold, silver, antiques or other rare collectibles lying around might want to know that the Ohio Valley Refinery & Roadshow wants to see them.

The Roadshow is making a stop in Big Spring this week in search of rare and unique collectibles. According to the company, collectors have set aside $300,000 to be distributed to Big Spring residents for their items during the free, five-day event.

• JOE LOUIS SANCHEZ, 51, of 401 Young St., was arrested Sunday on a charge of public intoxication.
• ZACHARY SCOTT LYON, 35, of 2911 W. Highway 80 Apt. 256, was arrested Sunday on a charge of public intoxication.
• ERNEST WILLIAM CLARK, 71, transient, was arrested Sunday on a charge of criminal trespass.

Horace C. "Murdy" Murdock, 80, of Big Spring died Saturday, June 25, 2011, in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Pastor Courtney Ballard officiating.

SAN ANGELO — After spending 81 years on this earth, Shirley O. Farrace passed away peacefully after a short illness in the evening hours of June 23, 2011. A celebration of her life will take place Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Benson officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.

County commissioners to eye redistricting

Howard County commissioners will consider approval of a redistricting plan for the county's four precincts Monday, as the government agency looks to realign its political boundaries following the 2010 Census.
According to County Judge Mark Barr, commissioners have three redistricting plans they are considering.
“We recently met with Bob Bass from Allison, Bass and Associates to discuss the necessary changes,” Barr said. “We have to redraw the lines to keep the precincts in line with the results of the census. I expect we'll be able to make a decision on the matter Monday.”
