Lucille E. Barton, 94, of Artesia, N.M., formerly of Forsan, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, in Artesia, N.M. Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Trinity Memorial Park, with Kenneth Garcia of 11th and Birdwell Lane Church of Christ officiating.
She was born Jan. 27, 1917, in Lloyd, Texas, and married Arthur David Barton on Jan. 13, 1940 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2005.
Lucille was a member of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ and a former member of the Forsan School Board. She was a homemaker.
David O. Perez, 61, of Houston, formerly of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Winkler County Attorney Scott Tidwell, who went on trial in 118th Dsitrict Court last week on charges of two counts each of misuse of official information, official oppression and retaliation will have to spend some time behind bars, as he was sentenced to 120 days in county jail, 10 years probation and a $6,000 fine.
It took the jury approximately three hours Monday to find Tidwell guilty on the charges, which were presented in a Howard County court because of an ordered change of venue by presiding Judge Robert H. Moore III.
Crossroads residents will get a chance to laugh — and, more importantly, for a good cause — Saturday, as the local comedy troupe the Goondock Saints will present an evening of laughter and entertainment to benefit the local volunteer fire department.
With doors at the Hog Heaven Party Barn — located on W. Highway 80 — set to open Saturday at 7 p.m., Goondock Saints founder Clay “Goonie” Vickers said the show will offer those attending a chance to relax and enjoy some big-city humor.

â€˘ CHARLIE EVERRETT RYERSON, 65, transient, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of public intoxication.
â€˘ SCOTT FREY, 62, transient, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of public intoxication.

Jerry Neil Easterling, 75, of Big Spring, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, in a Midland hospital.Â Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011,Â at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Chaplain Scott Jimenez of the Big Spring Veterans Administration Hospital officiating, assisted by Lt. Col. (ret) Vaughn Martin. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park with full military honors.

Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 4, 2011, Modehn Wyatt, 94, stepped into the loving arms of her heavenly father. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Ken McMeans officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. at Littlefield Cemetery in Littlefield, Texas.
Lumina Flores Lopez, of Big Spring passed away on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Kingdom Hall-Jehova Witnesses, 1500 Wasson Road, Big Spring 79720.
She is survived by her children, Eladio Zubiate, Fidel Lopez, Albert Barrera, Ray Gutierrez, Carlos Rodriguez, and Carmen Alicia Rodriguez-Huerta.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
