Thompson believes Steers turning corner

December 30, 2010

After going 3-1 in the Fredricksburg tournament, Big Spring boys basketball coach Cliff Thompson believes he’s watching his team learn from the mistakes it made at the beginning of the season.

That’s good news, too, considering district play is about two weeks away.

“The first part of the season was up and down, but we’re kind of on a roll now,” Thompson said. “I think we’ve been improving all year.”

The Steers took care of Randolph 62-32, lost to St. Andrews 61-56, beat Rouse 65-55 and defeated Ingram 68-39 in the Fredricksburg tournament to move to 13-6 on the season.

The Bearkats had 13 players earn honors. Chudej, Reggie Halfmann, Ruben Mier and Brian Hirt earned multiple honors.
