Karina Alvarado and the The Big Spring High School Lady Steers turned in an impressive outing on Friday at the Region I Powerlifting Championships in Fort Stockton. As a team, the Lady Steers had 10 athletes finish in the top 20 in their respective weight classifications.
Carlee Daniel and Jahnia Willard both turned in record-setting performances for the Forsan High School Lady Buffaloes this past weekend at the Region I Powerlifting Championships in Irion County. Both set personal marks in the meet, which was held Friday.

Big Spring Independent School District has received accredited-warned status for the Texas Education Agency, which makes it one of 13 school districts and 17 charter schools across the state to receive the designation.
