County OKs redistricting map

October 11, 2011

The county was forced to make minor changes to its previous redistricting model due to lines shifted by the city of Big Spring during its most recent meeting on the matter, but the changes proved to be little problem for attorney Robert Bass, who is handling restricting duties for both entities.

Everyone enjoys receiving a gift at Christmas, especially those fighting for our country.

Christmas for OUR Troops — a program started in 2004 — is aimed at making sure troops receive packages during the Christmas season.

Debbie Burrow, Big Spring area coordinator for Christmas for OUR Troops, said the goal for this year is 2,500 boxes. In 2004, five boxes were packaged and shipped after Scott Davis and USAF Captain Steven Givler became friends and sprouted the idea.
